This large, handwoven raffia basket, created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist Bronwyn Minniecon, beautifully combines functionality with artistry. Measuring approximately 27 cm in diameter and 4 cm deep, it features a tightly woven natural raffia base with 17 precise rounds. The sides are adorned with 3 vibrant, multi-coloured rounds in shades of red, yellow, purple, and brown, adding a striking contrast to the natural tones. Tiny woven handles complete this carefully crafted design, making it ideal as a decorative piece or for light storage.

Bronwyn Minniecon, based in Cairns, celebrates her Gooreng Gooreng/Gubbi Gubbi and Torres Strait Islander heritage through her weaving. Each creation reflects her commitment to preserving cultural traditions and sharing them with her family.
