This stunning handwoven raffia mat, created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist Bronwyn Minniecon, showcases exceptional craftsmanship. Measuring approximately 40 cm in diameter, the mat features 13 tightly woven rounds of natural raffia at the centre, followed by a band of 4 rounds in purple, 4 rounds in green, and 4 additional rounds of natural raffia on the outer edge. This intricate design reflects many hours of skilled work, making it perfect as a table centrepiece, wall hanging, or decorative accent.

Bronwyn Minniecon, based in Cairns, celebrates her Gooreng Gooreng/Gubbi Gubbi and Torres Strait Islander heritage through her weaving. Each creation reflects her dedication to preserving cultural traditions and sharing them with her family.
