Artist Statement:
“This is a freshwater crocodile skull made out of terracotta clay, then glazed. I am from the Kurtijar clan group. We eat freshwater crocodile cooked on the coals or in the ground oven. It has white flesh like chicken but tastes like fish. Our Elders used to spear them; we still do, but we can catch them on a fishing line as well.”
