This handcrafted fish sculpture by Indigenous artist Kim Norman from Pormpuraaw Arts Centre is made from ghost nets and other recycled materials. Designed for hanging, it measures 125cm long, 25cm high, and 46cm wide, showcasing sustainable art and traditional Aboriginal weaving techniques. Ghost nets, or fishing nets abandoned or lost at sea, pose a massive threat to marine life and birds. Fish and turtles, as well as larger animals such as dolphins and sharks, are often discovered entangled in the net, many of which have been killed.
