Hand-Carved Boomerang (Hook) by Anthony Saltmere 67cm long
$290.00
Discover the artistry of Anthony Saltmere’s hand-carved long thin boomerang, a testament to traditional Aboriginal craftsmanship. Hook boomerangs, or throwsticks, are traditional tools used by Aboriginal Australians for hunting and ceremonial purposes. Unlike returning boomerangs, they fly straight and feature a curved or hooked end that aids in capturing prey like birds and small game by hooking onto them. They are significant culturally, used both practically in hunting and ceremonially in rituals.
