Handcarved Mini “Wayin” Bird by Nyembur 14cm tall

This charming 14 cm mini bird, known as “wayin,” is handcarved and hand-painted by Aboriginal artist Nyembur from the Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre in Yirrkala, northeast Arnhem Land. The bird features intricate fish carvings on its back, along with a carved eye, beak, and little wings glued on. Painted in traditional Yolŋu colours with a black chest, this lightweight piece beautifully showcases Yolŋu craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Approximate diameter: 3 cm.
