Handcarved Mini “Wayin” Bird by Nyembur 15cm tall

This charming timber 15 cm mini bird, known as “wayin,” is handcarved and hand-painted by Aboriginal artist Nyembur from the Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre in Yirrkala, northeast Arnhem Land. Featuring intricate carvings on its back, along with a carved eye and beak, the bird is painted in traditional Yolŋu colours with a black chest. This beautiful lightweight piece showcases exceptional Yolŋu craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Approximate diameter: 3 cm.
