Description

This beautiful iron ore necklace features Chern’ee Sutton’s Aboriginal artwork, showcasing the design called “Yuanati,” which means “Grow Big” in the Kalkadoon language. The artwork is printed with coated ink on a round hematite tablet, sourced from Western Australia, and is mounted with a silver bale on an adjustable black necklace for a versatile fit.

Chern’ee Sutton’s stunning jewellery pieces are crafted exclusively by Vanessa Australia, in collaboration with Chern’ee. Each piece is thoughtfully made in Australia, with royalties paid directly to the artist. This design reflects Indigenous culture and the growth and strength embedded in the Kalkadoon language.

Chern’ee Sutton is a proud Aboriginal artist and Kalkadoon woman from the emu foot province around the Mount Isa area in North West Queensland. Chern’ee’s Great, Great, Great Grandmother is an apical ancestor of the Kalkadoon people and is also related to Charlie Perkins a renowned Aboriginal activist who led the Freedom Ride in the late 1960’s. Chern’ee entered her first art competition at 13 years of age and won first place in the open category and has been painting madly ever since.
