Fire & Flood Story
Our people have walked this red land for thousands of years and never took more than we needed, the land in turn looked after and provided for us. Food, Shelter, Spirits and Lore. We need to either continue the work or once again start respecting this land that our old people once walked. We are the guardians of this place, and as such we should look after it. My painting shows what it should be, animals are plentiful, plants have fruits, the fire clean the earth, the rains pour and the floods replenish. All the while when our people walk in this red dirt, we should always remember, leave nothing but our foot tracks, because she has to be here for our future generations, when you and I are no longer drawing breath.
