Description
Nagula Jarndu’s handmade earrings blend fun, tradition, and cultural significance. Each pair showcases unique designs and bold finishes, combining contemporary style with Indigenous artistry. Crafted with stainless steel, nickel-free posts, they celebrate Aboriginal culture with a distinctive and vibrant touch.
These Kija Country earrings, designed by Kija artist Rowena Morgan, are inspired by the majestic hills of the Lansdowne Ranges in the Kimberley, where Rowena is a custodian. The design is crafted from bright pink mirror acrylic, reflecting the beauty of the landscape in a striking, modern way. A teal mirror circle top measuring 1.5cm in diameter adds a dynamic contrast, enhancing the boldness of the design.
With a total diameter of approximately 5cm, these earrings are both a statement piece and a tribute to Rowena’s ancestral land, finished with stainless steel posts for durability and comfort.
Nagula Jarndu, meaning “Saltwater Woman,” is an Indigenous women-led arts and textiles enterprise based in Broome, Western Australia. It empowers Aboriginal women to create handcrafted works inspired by their stories and connection to the land and sea.
