Description

Nagula Jarndu’s handmade earrings blend fun, tradition, and cultural significance. Each pair features unique designs and vibrant finishes, combining modern style with Indigenous artistry. Crafted with stainless steel, nickel-free posts, they celebrate Aboriginal culture with a playful and distinctive touch.

These Jalangardi (Goanna) earrings, designed by Yawuru artist Amanda Rose Lee, are a stunning homage to the goanna, an animal of deep cultural significance. Handcrafted from recycled bamboo, each goanna-shaped earring is approximately 7cm in length, showcasing intricate detailing that brings the creature to life. A timber disc, 1.5cm in diameter, sits at the top, offering a natural finish, with the reverse side left plain to highlight the material’s organic beauty. The earrings are completed with stainless steel posts, combining traditional inspiration with modern craftsmanship.

Nagula Jarndu, meaning “Saltwater Woman,” is an arts and textiles business run by Indigenous women from Broome, Western Australia. Established by Yawuru women, it empowers Aboriginal artists to create handcrafted products that reflect the local landscape and celebrate cultural heritage.
