Description

Nagula Jarndu’s handmade earrings blend fun, tradition, and cultural significance. Each pair features unique designs and vibrant finishes, combining modern style with Indigenous artistry. Crafted with stainless steel, nickel-free posts, they celebrate Aboriginal culture with a playful and distinctive touch.

These Jila (Waterhole) earrings, designed by Walmajarri-Nykina artist Gabriella Baxter, are inspired by the deep cultural significance of waterholes to First Nations peoples. More than just a water source, these sites hold great spiritual importance and are places of sustenance and sacredness. The earrings feature mirror bronze acrylic with hand-painted white details, measuring approximately 7cm in length. They are topped with a 1.5cm diameter organic circle in mirror orange, complete with stainless steel posts for a striking and meaningful design.

Nagula Jarndu, meaning “Saltwater Woman,” is an arts and textiles business run by Indigenous women from Broome, Western Australia. Established by Yawuru women, it empowers Aboriginal artists to create handcrafted products that reflect the local landscape and celebrate cultural heritage.
