Notebook Featuring Artwork by Zane Saunders

Zane Saunders was born in Cairns in 1971 and grew up in Kuranda, Far North Queensland. His ancestral connections are with the Butchulla (Bajala) people of Fraser Island. He was given the Gungu Yimithir name Ngamu Mangal Bungal by a Hope Vale elder, meaning “clever hands.”

Artwork Story: Zane explores the idea that in both art and life, we all need support—to find balance and to face challenges that push us to the edge.
