Artwork Story

The kangaroo, goanna, turtle, eel, brim, emu, and plain turkey were my staple diet and means of food. This painting is my representation of the variety of bush tucker.

The background is painted in yellow patches and red, representing my country and the colour of the soil and ground. The two white-dotted circles represent the two main waterholes, with a creek system between them.

The colours each hold meaning—white represents water and life, black is my skin, red is blood, and yellow is the sun. The lines are my representation of my culture and beliefs, showing how straight I uphold and stand for my culture.
