Artwork Story

On this canvas is a freshwater crayfish. It symbolises my hunting skills as a young boy growing up in the 60s. I had to use my hands to get under the claws to be able to catch a feed.

I remember the best waterholes and where to go. There are eight waterholes connected by a creek, with a red claw in the middle as a representation of the crayfish. White represents water, yellow the sun, and red for blood. The black ground is patched with yellow, representing the type of soil associated with this country.
